Slider was made as an entry to GMTK Game Jam 2021. It was made in 48 hours with a team of my friends, and of the 6,000 entries, we finished 16th place overall at the end of the jam!
Making this game was super exciting. Once we finished brainstorming, we knew our idea had a lot of potential: a game where moving tiles on a grid slides the world with it. This led to a lot of possible puzzle mechanics and exploration to be had.
I was super happy with how well we scoped the project, and it was really fortunate that everything fell into place together. A bit of design, beta testing, and luck led the puzzles to be interesting and introduced at a great pace. Some feedback had to come in the post-jam version, but overall I was super happy with Slider.
“A strange artifact allows YOU (yes you!) to control the world itself. You will have to manipulate an ever-growing set of tiles as you explore and solve puzzles on a terrestrial scale.”
